Amrita Visha Vidyapeetham has notified the Amrita Entrance Examination-Engineering (AEEE) for admission to the 4 year B.Tech Degree programmes offered in the 3 campuses of Amrita Viswa Vidyapeeth, at Amritapuri (Kollam), Bengaluru and Ettimadai (Coimbatore).
The AEEE will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 17th April, 2011 (Sunday) at 79 centres across the country. The list of centres is given below.

Seat allotment through Counselling will be based on the eligibility and rank obtained by the Candidate in the Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering 2011.

The Programmes offered in the different Campuses are as follows.
Amritapuri Campus: Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Bengaluru Campus: Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Coimbatore Campus:
Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering and Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility: Applicants should have been born on or after 1st July 1990. They should have passed the final examination of 10+2 (class XII ) or its equivalent securing 60% marks or above in Mathematics, 55% or above separately in Physics and Chemistry with an aggregate of 60% in the three subjects Or should have a Three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education. Those who are appearing for the above examinations in March/April 2011 and expect to secure minimum marks as above may also apply.
Application Fee: Application fee is Rs. 850/-, which covers the cost of Application Form, University Brochure, Information Handbook and Examination fee.

Application forms:

Application Form can be obtained by Post, from the Admission Co-ordinators of Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore, on a written request indicating their full communication address together with a Demand Draft for Rs. 850/- drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

Application from can be obtained from the University counter of Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore on producing a demand draft for Rs. 850/- as above.
Application can be obtained from designated branches of Post Office, AXIS Bank, Dhanalaxmi Bank, Corporation Bank, Federal Bank and State Bank of India on payment of Rs. 850/-.

Application can also be submitted online with the payment gateway website www.amrita.edu

Applicants can also apply through website and submit the Application printout in good quality A4 size paper, duly signed, along with Demand Draft for Rs. 850/- drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore and a passport size colour photograph affixed in the specified location. Application forms will be issued only till 23.03.2011.


Submission of Filled in Applications:

Filled in Application forms should reach ‘The Admission Co-ordinator, AMRITA SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham,Ettimadai (P.O), Coimbatore, Tamilnadu-641 105’ latest by 25th March, 2011. Candidates should write his/ er Name and also ‘B.Tech Application’ on the back of the DD. They may keep a photocopy of the Application and DD with them for future reference.

Examination:

AEEE will be of 3 hours duration from 10 am to 1 pm. There will a single question paper containing 120 objective type questions in the form of a Question Booklet in English, with 60 questions from Mathematics and 30 each from Physics and Chemistry. Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. Candidates will have to select the correct or most appropriate answer, and shade the corresponding bubble in the OMR Answer Sheet supplied, using HB pencil or blue / black ball point pen. Each question correctly answered will fetch three marks. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Result and Counselling:

Rank list will be published in the University website within four weeks from the date of examination. Counselling for admission will be in May/June 2011. Counselling call letter will be sent to the eligible candidates after the publication of the rank list of the Amrita Entrance Examination. The counselling schedule will be available in the university website. Counselling will be arranged simultaneously in the three campuses using satellite connectivity. Candidate can appear for counselling in any one of the three campuses and opt a branch in any campus according to his / her preference and availability of seat. But candidates who have studied and passed +2 examination in Karnataka state are advised to attend the counselling at the Bengaluru campus. A certain percentage of seats in each campus will be earmarked for the candidates from the State in which the campus is situated.
